SA Smart: The Mayor's K-12 Smart City Challenge
JSTEM kiddos won this challenge two years ago, and we hope that they can do it again!
San Antonio students in grades 7-12 are given a current challenge to the city of San Antonio. They are trying to solve a food insecurity problem that SA faces. Students create a presentation and present it to city officials, and they are judged on the most innovative and would have the most accessible rollout/success in the current population.
This year's SA Smart 2021 Challenge is: How can San Antonio drastically reduce food insecurity among residents? Judson ISD wants to wish our JSTEM team good luck. Challenge ends late May.
Autism Month
Autism is the fastest-growing developmental disorder in the United States. 1 in 54 children is diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, totaling over 5 million young people and adults. The Autism Society works every day to measurably improve the quality of life for individuals and families affected by autism. Each April, we celebrate Autism Acceptance Month to spread awareness, promote acceptance, and ignite change.
Judson ISD recognizes that providing educational materials of signs and symptoms can promote awareness and spark empathy, acceptance, and change.
Judson ISD would love to share photos of how you are helping the community spread awareness and acceptance. Tag us in our social media post using #JudsonISD #JISD and #CelebrateDifferences
