A Grateful Heart by Jasmine Mizola, Class of 2024
BEGIN EACH DAY WITH A GRATEFUL HEART
I give thanks to my God at every remembrance of you,
praying always with joy in my every prayer for all of you,
because of your partnership for the gospel from the first day until now.
And this is my prayer: that your love may increase ever more and more
in knowledge and every kind of perception, to discern what is of value,
so that you may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,
filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ
for the glory and praise of God.
~From Saint Paul’s Letter to the Philippians, Ch. 1:1-5, 9-11
Dear Saint Clare School Families,
Thank you to those families who joined us at 10:30 family mass to stand in witness to affirm the work of our teachers, your partners in the formation of your children as disciples of Christ and moral and ethical humans. We see you and we appreciate you! Thank you, as well, to the Polkinhorn Family who provided donuts after mass. There are a few more spots left to become a donut sponsor through September and October. The children (and some adults!) look forward to it! If you are available to pick up the donuts and arrange for a few students or families distribute them, the school can sponsor the purchase of the donuts. Just let Mrs. Rizzo know.
PEACE WALK: International Day of Peace | Wednesday, Sept. 21, 10:30A
We invite you to join the Student Council as they lead the student body into a silent peace walk to bring attention to the need for peace in our world. Not only is the occupation of Ukraine ongoing, we continue to experience racism. It is up to us to work against this grave sin that divides our human family. We will gather immediately after recess. Route TBD based on sidewalk construction.

A CUP WITH THE PRINCIPAL: State of the School | Thursday, Sept. 22
On Thursday, we are protecting some time to update our school community of our financial outlook, accreditation work, strategic planning, academic initiatives, and facilities updates. I am extremely proud of what we have been able to accomplish together, even through the pandemic. We hope you can join us!
MANY THANKS, CLASS OF 2023!
Our faculty and staff were celebrated with creative “under the sea” decorations, fun games and treats, and yummy food. We are so grateful for the opportunity to gather and enjoy each other’s company. Thank you!

The Saint Clare School Prayer
(by Jasmine Mizola)
Lord, help us to walk with you each day,
living together in our mission.
Renew our strength as we exemplify your will
with habits of the mind, heart, and spirit.
Open our minds,
so we may joyfully embody
the Gospel mission entrusted by Christ to His Church.
Open our hearts,
so we may cherish our diversity
and embrace all backgrounds and cultures
with gratitude.
Lift up our spirits,
so we may form and encourage learners,
developing spiritual and academic foundations
to become moral and ethical servant leaders
in the community.
With grateful hearts,
we thank you for all you have given us in the past years
and ask you to help us achieve our mission this year,
and in the years to come.
Amen.
Wishing you a week filled with gratitude for the blessings of this community.
Mrs. Cecile Mantecon, Principal

HVAC UPDATES
Learning from this, we are starting the process for the elementary building now with a proposal to the Diocesan Building Committee to approve the vendor. When that is completed, plans will be drawn and we will begin the ordering of equipment and permitting process, knowing the electrical upgrade will be significant in cost and construction. My earnest hope is that we will complete the HVAC upgrade in the summer of 2023, sooner if all goes well.
I appreciate your understanding of the scope of this work and the amount of time, money, and effort it requires, while running a school and all that entails. If you can help in any way by way of a donation, a grant, or insight with City permits, I welcome your input.
