Sacred Heart Catholic School News
April 2, 2024
PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD AND INVITE FRIENDS AND FAMILY. ALL WELCOME.
We want to spread the news about our new all day 3 year old preschool program and invite new students to register for next year. We also have spots available in Kindergarten thru 2nd grade.
Current students in PreK-2nd grade are all invited to join us on Friday night.
We have a matching donor for our gym floor!
Sacred Heart Catholic School has raised $56,963.50 toward our gym floor project, but our work is not done! We have donor that will contribute $50,000 once we raise $100,000. Our gym floor was installed in the 1970s and is in dire need of replacement. This space serves as a place where our children play, athletes compete and our community and school gathers.
With $150,000, we plan to replace the gym floor, purchase the remaining new stage, add cordless microphones for our drama department, paint the gym, and look at replacing our scoreboard and/or add a drop down screen. These enhancements will create a new gym space that will be used by our entire community.
We hope you will consider donating today to help us reach our goal! Your donation doubles with our matching grant. Click on the QR code below to donate.

Thank you to everyone that helped make our fish fry dinners successful
A big thank you to Becky Lahr and Liz Johnson for organizing our kitchen and dining room.
**Becky worked Thursday nights preparing the food for Friday. Then on Friday, she lead our kitchen crew prepare and serve the food and wash dishes. Becky also ordered all the food and picked up the bakery items each week. This was a big undertaking.
**Liz worked on Friday nights getting the dining room ready for our guests and organizing our many volunteers.. She had everything ready to go in the dining room by 4:30 pm.
Thank you to the middle school students and Mrs. Hippen for setting up the tables with placemats, silverware, cups/glasses, etc. each Friday morning.
Thank you to those that volunteered at the ticket table, setting up the tables, scullery, dining room, kitchen, and take out orders. Our community came together during Lent to serve others.
All proceeds support our Sacred Heart Catholic School students.
Hookey with the Principal
Harper and Sylvia snuck out of the building with me before spring break. We went to Dave & Busters to have a special lunch and play video games. The girls won prizes by earning points on the games. Before we went back to school, we stopped for ice cream cones. It was a great afternoon and the best part, we skipped a few classes.
We were crazy race car drivers.
We played a game of air hockey.
We were pretty good at throwing a ball to knock down figures.
Congratulations to Louie, grade 6, for taking 2nd place in the Genesis Competition at CSCOE
Congratulations to the winners of our second annual Genesis: A Schulze Entrepreneurial Showcase, which took place on Saturday at the University of St. Thomas.
Three students won prizes for their “big ideas” that impressed the judges and demonstrated noteworthy innovation. Louie took 2nd place and won $750! Way to go Louie.
Congratulations to Henry L., Alanna, Louis, Isaac, Christopher and Julien for qualifying for the CSCOE STEM Fair

Need help paying for tuition?
MN Fundraising Initiative (MNFI) secures contracts with over 23 venues in the greater Twin Cities area including Target Field, Target Center, Canterbury, and US Bank to operate food and beverage concessions stands at their events.
MNFI organizes teams of volunteers from all over the state of MN and WI who work together to run these stands. In turn, MNFI receives donations from these venues. The donations are then used to award grants to families in local communities to allow youth to attend private school, such as Sacred Heart Catholic School and participate in enrichment activities they may not otherwise be able to enjoy. Checks are mailed directly to Sacred Heart in your name.
Many of our school families use this organization to help pay for tuition.
