The Interrupters: Documentary

Intro
The Interrupters tells the moving and surprising stories of three Violence Interrupters who try to protect their Chicago communities from the violence they once handled.
Purpose of Film
The purpose of the film was to stop the violence that is happening in Chicago. The film also proved that people could change resulting in a better life. The film further showed youth's a better way to resolve conflicts.
Thesis
The documentary did achieve it's purpose on showing both sides of people who understood that violence is never the answer.
Lil Mikey
When Lil Mikey was 15 he went into a barber shop and hostile the people who where in there by pulling out a gun to steal the money serving 2 years in prison. After 2 years past he went back to the barber shop and apologized to every one and says that he a changed man. Later when Lil Mikey was released from prison he found a job working at a day care.
Caprysha
A day after Caprysha walked away from Ameena in the park, she was back in a juvenile correctional facility for violating her parole. Ameena went to visit her at the Illinois Youth Center at Warrenville. Caprysha earned her high school diploma on January 2011 while in the center. Today, Caprysha is back in a juvenile detention center for violating her parole, but Ameena says things are different.
Flamo
Flamo at first did want to change and seen no problems on what he was doing. Later on Flamo realizes that he does need to change to get his life back. Flamo is now a comedian and stays out of trouble.
Conclusion
In conclusion the film made it clear that violence is still a huge problem to the youth of Chicago. The film did a good job on showing different people prospective by explaining that the use of violence will never get you nowhere and is never the answer. The impact that it gave me as a viewer was that no matter what people do, people could change to make their life better and never make the same mistakes. Overall, I really did like the film by it showing the different sides of what people did wrong and fixing their problems by not using violence. The film could change a lot of people on not using violence to solve their problems.
