Dinosaurs Live is provided 100% free to our school, school district, students, and families. Dinosaurs Live sells popcorn, cotton candy, beverages, souvenirs, face painting, and slide wristbands. We hope you will plan to attend!!

Staff Spotlight
This month we are spotlighting our first grade staff. In first grade this school year our teachers are Mrs. Annita Rodriguez, Mrs. Jamie Rodriguez and Mrs. Heather Neuman. Mrs. Annita Rodriguez stated "FIRST GRADE! What can I say I LOVE IT! I wouldn't want to teach any other grade. This is when children really start to learn to read and seeing that growth in each and every child is AMAZING! They are like sponges, they soak in any and every thing they hear. Well MOST of the TIME! Ha Ha! I love the opportunity to teach this grade and wouldn't change it for the world. The children are AWESOME! Getting to know each and every one of them brings a smile to my face every day." Mrs. Heather would like everyone to know "first grade has been a blast so far! My team works really well together, and it has been so much fun watching my students continue to grow after leaving kindergarten. That is something that I don't usually get to be a part of. I enjoy getting to challenge my students even further with different STEM activities and watching the collaboration that happens." We are thankful for our great first grade team!

ATTENDANCE REMINDERS
Please take note that there are a few changes this year to our attendance policy and how/why students would need to make up attendance hours. Every student must attend 93% of the days class is in session to receive credit. Once a student misses more than 93% they must complete attendance makeup to receive credit. Attendance make up is $5 per hour and completed during Night School (Tuesday/Thursday)(3:35-7:30pm) or Saturday school (8-3:30pm).
** Changes ** A student will be required to make up hours even with a doctor's note if they do not attend school on the day of the note. For an absence to count as a medical excuse and not count in the 93% rule, your student MUST attend school during the day either before or after their appointment. If they do not attend school it will count against their 93% rule and be subject to attendance makeup, even with a doctors excuse.
Please do not hesitate to call the school office (254-687-2922 ext 120) with any questions regarding this change.
NOTE: AFTERNOON ATTENDANCE DOES COUNT TOWARD MAKE UP HOURS
