Limelight Theatre Attends Leadership Conference
On September 7, 2019, FHHS Limelight Theatre Student Officers, Santino Bono (President), Kennedy Linhauer (Vice President), Lily Moore (Secretary), Sophie Greuner (Recruitment Officer), Allie Thornton (Fundraising Officer), Katie Thuet & Isabella Bartner (Web Masters), and Sam Temper (Junior Representative), attended the Missouri State Thespian Leadership Conference in Jefferson City, Missouri.
During this one-day conference, our officers obtained vital leadership skills that they can take forward with them throughout the year, as well as participated in multiple workshops that will assist them in bringing out the best in FHHS’ Thespian Troupe. Officers participated in many informative workshops such as an Improv Intensive, Creating Props with Liquid Plastic, Scholarships, Tech Challenge and Tech Design, Recruiting the Mob, Droppin' the Droppers, Troupe Performance Opportunities, Looking at College Programs, Page To Stage / MusicWorks Events, and Awards and Grants. The conference also provided for important discussions on how to prepare for the upcoming Missouri State Thespian Conference which will be held January 9-11, 2020.
After attending the Leadership Conference, Fundraising Officer Allie Thornton stated that she is looking forward to “putting myself out there by performing in IEs and Scholarship Auditions, but the All-State Closing Number was particularly interesting to me. I love to sing, dance, and act, and the fact that the theme this year is the ‘20s makes the possibility of performing in the Closing Number super exciting!" Drama Club president, Santino Bono, stated that “the Leadership conference overall helped us a lot in both connecting with other troupes and with our own branch of officers. We can’t wait to share some new ideas that we learned and better our troupe as a whole." All told it sounds like the Leadership Conference has provided the FHHS Limelight Theatre Officers with a solid foundation for a fabulous theatre year!!
