Vision: Remember that we are working toward our vision "To Perform Better Today Than We Did Yesterday" by putting Kids First and working specifically on growing in the areas of Achievement, Communication, Culture, Technology, and Leadership.
Vision Focus: Communication
Thank you so much to everyone who worked to create an amazing website and ensure that it is linked to our Rennell webpage. They look so amazing and professional!!! It has been wonderful seeing you all sending out your weekly newsletters! Several parents have already commented on the level of communication they've received here at Rennell! THANK YOU!
Don't forget to share the great things going on at Rennell on Social Media as well. No one is going to tell our story but us. And, unfortunately, the truth is if we don't tell the story of all the positive things that are going on every day - the difference that we are making here - the smiles and light bulbs and academic progress - the community won't know and they will assume the worst because those stories - the worst things happening in schools - are the only stories being shared on the news and social media unless we shout the great things from the rooftops!!! Everyone needs to see what amazing work is being done at Rennell Elementary every day. Everyone needs to recognize that our staff consistently goes above and beyond. Everyone needs to see that Rennell is a spotlight campus! No one is going to tell that story but US. Jump on social media and share the great things YOU are doing!!!

Principal Read Aloud
Principal Read Alouds are off and running! I am having such a great time getting to spend time with your students! Thank you for welcoming me into your classrooms!
If you haven't signed up yet, or need to double-check when I'll be coming to read to your classes, please open this link (also available in the Rennell Staff Google Classroom) and sign up for TWO 10 minute slots (total of 20 minutes- gives us wiggle room) on one of the available days/times over the next two weeks. Don't forget that EVERYONE has EDITING access to this document, so please do not erase or write on top of others if they beat you to that time!
If there are no available times that work for you and/or your partner, please reach out through email so I can offer additional times that might work for you. I am really looking forward to getting to spend time with each of your classes! Thank you for allowing me to come in and share a story with your students.

Tweet of the Week
ALL Staff Parking in Back
Additionally, in the afternoon when staff walk across the car rider line in front of all of those parents to get into their car and leave, when many of our students are still waiting to leave, it just doesn't set the tone of "kids first". I am not saying you are not putting kids first! Not by any means! If you are not on car rider duty and your time for the day is up - you may certainly leave, however, it will look better if you are leaving out the back and not in front of waiting parents and students.
We're asking EVERYONE to do this - teachers, front office staff, even the APs and myself will be parking in the back to free up spaces for our parents. So... those of you who already park in the back... first of all, THANK YOU! And secondly, please don't get mad if a new "back-parker" takes "your" parking spot! We didn't know!!!! (Haha... we know no one has any assigned spots- but we all have a routine). We'll all be walking in together now.
