From the Principal
Hopefully this message finds you well and in good spirits. Last week was another one filled with learning, exploration, celebrations, and activities. Our NEHS/PTA Teacher Day Experience Auction concluded, and many of the experiences kicked off this past week. Scholars created pillowcases, had fun at a party, created vision blocks, and served as Principal for the day. Each scholar enjoyed their experiences, and we look forward to fulfilling all of the experiences. For those who missed this opportunity, be on the lookout for this fundraiser that will occur again during the 2021-2022 school year.
Speaking of 2021-2022, online registration is open for new Pre-K (must be 4 by September 1; must qualify) and Kindergarten (must be 5 by September 1) scholars. If you have a younger child who is ready to join his/her current sibling, be sure to complete the online registration by visiting the website of our Enrollment Center accessible via this link: https://www.chisd.net/register.
This week, the race for excellence continues as we continue with instruction, collection of Chromebooks, and our virtual awards programs. An email was sent on last week that breaks down the schedule for returning Chromebooks; be sure to reference that email (information is also included on below). Direct emails will be sent for those who would like to view our virtual awards program for each respective grade level.
With Field Day approaching on Friday, we have had a great start receiving items, and we thank those who have already sent in snacks based on what our PTA communicated. You have Tuesday-Thursday to send in the following if you are able to do so:
- EE/Pre-K/Kindergarten: Capri Suns
- 1st Grade: Fruit Snacks
- 2nd Grade: Packaged dried fruit (raisins/cranberries/etc.)
- 3rd Grade: Cracker Snack Packs (Goldfish/Cheez Its/etc.)
- 4th Grade: Chips/Pretzels
- 5th Grade: Water
Parents are reminded to send scholars to school with a refillable water bottle and a face mask daily.

Chromebook Collection
Dear Lake Ridge Elementary School Families,
We hope you are enjoying the final days of the 2020-2021 school year. As we prepare for the summer break, it is important to share with you important information about returning your district provided Chromebook.
Our campus staff will collect Chromebooks, power cords, and cases for in-person learners (traditional instruction) on June 1 here at the campus. Please make sure your child brings his/her device to school on that day. Scholars who do not return the devices on June 1, if they are out of school for extenuating circumstances, are expected to return it the next day or to make arrangements for it to be returned that day.
Scholars in Special Education taking in-person classes (traditional instruction) will need to return their devices to the CHISD Enrollment Center located at 504 East Belt Line Road, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 2. Our campus will contact families directly who need to return to that location for clarity.
Our virtual/online flex learning scholars (including those in Special Education taking classes virtually) must return their devices to the CHISD Enrollment Center located at 504 E. Beltline Road; the drop off dates and times are below:
- June 9, 2021 - 8:00 a.m.-4:00 pm.
- June 10, 2021 - 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
- June 11, 2021 - 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
If your child is enrolling in summer school, the device is still required to be returned based on the communicated dates. Devices will be available for use at the respective summer school locations.
Thank you for your partnership and understanding. If you have additional questions, please feel free to email devicesupport@chisd.net.
Sincerely,
Marquita McCullum, Principal
