MCA Testing
In the next week 11th grade students will be taking the MCA Math test in their US History classes. The teacher will let students know their scheduled days for testing. If a student does not have a US History class, they will take the test when we get to our MCA Makeups.
If students have any questions, please come to the guidance office.
ATTENDANCE MATTERS!
Attention All Students and Families!
As we head into the home stretch of the school year it is even more important that we continue to work hard on maintaining good attendance. This announcement is to let everyone know that next week we will be focusing on fulfilling our trimester goal of improving on-time class attendance.
Starting Tuesday staff will periodically be sweeping the hallways (aka Tardy Sweeps) making sure everyone is on time and in the right area. Students found in the hallways tardy or out of area will be brought down to the Forum and will work with our behavior staff on strategies to improve attendance. Guardians will also be notified. Students who are out of area may receive consequences, which could include not being able to attend after school activities. . Please remind your student to make sure they are on time to class and to make sure they have a pass if they are leaving class for any reason.
Nerf Wars - Important
We recently learned that some students are playing the game called ‘Nerf Wars.’ This game can become dangerous and especially if vehicles are involved. In other communities, this game has resulted in vehicle accidents and injuries to students.
Please know that North High School and ISD 622 do not in any way sponsor, allow or condone Nerf Wars on district property. This includes ISD 622 parking lots and after school games and events. Students that bring a Nerf gun to school or participate in this game on school property will be assigned significant school consequences.
We are bringing this to your attention today in hopes of protecting the safety of all students. Please talk to your student and explain the potential dangers of this game.
Fundraising for Service Day
Our 3rd annual Schoolwide Service Day is planned for Tuesday, May 21st! We are continuing our tradition of service projects including making meal packages, assembling clothing/sundries packages, cleaning up trash around the city, among other experiences.
We are currently working on raising funds for purchasing materials for our service day. We have some generous local business sponsors already but can always use the extra help!
If you would like to directly donate to the school for the event, please click here or scan the QR Code to donate online, or you can write a check to North High School.
If you or someone you know has a business that would be interested in being a sponsor, please have them contact Jonathan Friedman at jfriedman@isd622.org or 651-748-6013
