1st & 2nd Grade Music Program Information
We are so excited to host our upcoming music program for our 1st and 2nd grade students on Thursday, March 7th. Our music programs will be a bit different this year since we are hosting two grade levels each evening. Please read the important information below to ensure a seamless, successful evening! We are looking forward to welcoming you into our building to share the joy of music with you.
Please reach out to Mrs. Heridia with any questions regarding the music program. lheridia@cps.k12.in.us
1st Grade Students & Families
Performance Time: 6:00 P.M.
- Please arrive to Solon no earlier than 5:50. Doors for entry will open at that time.
- Park in the parking lot on the north side of the building and enter at door 4N. Additional parking will be permitted on neighborhood streets with entry at either 4N or 1W.
- Additional handicap accessible parking will be located in the front circle drive with entry at door 1W. Please reserve parking in the circle drive for guests that need accessible parking.
- All students should arrive to their classrooms by 5:55 where they will be monitored by their classroom teacher until the start of the program. We ask that parents keep personal items (coats, etc.) belonging to your children. Students will not be returning to their classrooms or lockers after the performance. They will be dismissed directly to their families in the gymnasium at the conclusion of the program.
- There is no need to buy a special outfit for the performance; however, we ask that students dress nicely (no athletic wear or jeans, if possible).
- We plan for the program to last approximately 25 minutes. Once the program is over, we ask that you exit the building and parking lot in a timely fashion to allow parking for our 2nd grade families prior to their performance. Thank you for your assistance in ensuring a smooth transition between the two programs.
2nd Grade Students & Families
Performance Time: 6:45 P.M.
- Please arrive to Solon no earlier than 6:35. Doors for entry will open at that time. Because of the first grade performance at 6:00, parking will not be available for 2nd grade families until 6:35.
- Park in the parking lot on the north side of the building and enter at door 4N. Additional parking will be permitted on neighborhood streets, with entry at either 4N or 1W.
- Additional handicap accessible parking will be located in the front circle drive with entry at door 1W. Please reserve parking in the circle drive for guests that need accessible parking.
- All students should arrive to their classrooms by 6:40 where they will be monitored by their classroom teacher until the start of the program. We ask that parents keep personal items (coats, etc.) belonging to your children. Students will not be returning to their classrooms or lockers after the performance. - There is no need to buy a special outfit for the performance; however, we ask that students dress nicely (no athletic wear or jeans, if possible).

Music News
Students in music class have been doing a variety of things the past few weeks. We have had visitors from band, orchestra, and choir at the middle school level for our students in Grades 4-5. Students in Kindergarten learned how to waltz during specials time at the end of their CKLA unit. Things are always special down in music class!
