Sipley School Weekly Howl
Week of September 5, 2016
Consistency is about building small empowering habits and rituals that you partake in every single day that keep you focused on your highest priorities and goals. It therefore essentially comes down to your ability to hold yourself accountable for the daily choices you make with no excuses and no complaints. You and you alone are accountable for what you do and what you fail to do. All responsibility lies solely in your hands.

Help Wanted - Title I Parent Information Nights
It is important that we do more to connect with our parents.
I heard from a number of staff who suggest holding a parent night. It would be valuable to host a Title I Literacy Night where we divide ourselves into groups for discussions on reading and writing. This may include a glance at readers and writers workshop at the primary and intermediate levels, outlining the stages of phonics development, building a reading life, or how to support a student reading below grade level.
I also heard a desire to host a math night. Topics might include D68 Math Instruction, building math fluency, math games, girls and math, or how to support a student working below grade level in math.
If you have interest in joining me in a Title I Parent Information Night (outside of Title I Family Reading Night), please let me know asap.
No Cook Night and Staff Involvement
I would love staff involvement in a Parent Information Night. If you only have a night or two to generously give to our school, I prefer it would be for that. Again, let me know of your interest asap.
If you have more time to give, STP is looking for staff for:
Mongolian Grill on 10/11 or 10/12.
McDonalds on 11/15.
If you are interested in one of these events, please let me know.
