NEWS FROM THE NEST
November 2021
Parent Teacher Conferences Thank You!
Due to the low number of families that have accessed the online progress reports (report card) in PowerSchool over the last couple of years, we will be printing and mailing the progress reports home at the end of November. If you have any questions about your child's progress, please contact your child's teacher for additional information.
Thank you for being an active participant in your child's education. We cannot educate alone.
We look forward to seeing you on March 3 or 7 for our Spring conferences!
Eagles Elementary is starting a new student lead committee for 4th and 5th graders
What is No Place for Hate?
A committee that engages students and staff in dialogue and active learning on the topics of bias, bullying, inclusion and allyship that matter most to your community.
How will my child benefit?
Through school-wide, discussion-based and active-learning activities, students and staff will examine identities, reflect on biased behavior and learn new ways to challenge bias and bullying in themselves, others and society. Your child will have discussions around:
· How to connect with friends and classmates in an engaging way.
· Developing a greater respect for differences.
What are the expectations for my child?
· Attendance at our monthly meetings
· Model openness, respect, and kindness to all students at Eagles
· Become an ally and advocate for all of our Eagle Aces

Title 1 Schoolwide Planning Information for 2021-2022
PTA Update
Are you a social media maven? Do you throw the best parties? Are your organizational skills the stuff of legend, or maybe spreadsheets are your jam? No matter your skill set, you can put your talents to good use while making Eagles the best school for your Ace.
Eagles PTA is seeking parents and guardians to volunteer for several committees for the 2022-23 school year. Many longtime volunteers will soon “graduate” and new leaders are needed to ensure our school’s signature events and initiatives can continue. By volunteering now, you can learn from a seasoned pro how easy it is to make a difference through one of these committees or positions:
Book Fair: Assist librarian and recruit volunteers for Scholastic fairs
Communications: Manage the PTA Facebook group
Family Involvement: Plan fun events like Skate City and Bingo nights
Hospitality: Show appreciation to Eagles staff
LEGO Robotics: Coordinate the FIRST LEGO League team
Membership: Receive member forms and dues
School Clothing: Maintain inventory and organize yearly online store
Secretary: Take minutes at monthly meeting
Walk-a-Thon: Organize yearly fundraiser
Can you help? The time commitment for each position is minimal and you’ll be supported every step the way. You can also co-chair any committee with a friend! To express interest or for more information, email eagleacespta@gmail.com
