Girls Basketball playoff at 5:30 at home vs. Whitehall.
Boys Basketball playoff at 7 PM at home vs. Bethlehem Catholic (will be televised on Service Electric on Channels 50 and 550 HD).
Feb 6 Mr. Parkland, PHS Auditorium, 7 PM.
Feb 8 CHINESE NEW YEAR
Feb 9 Post Prom Committee Meeting, PHS Library, 7 PM.
Feb 9 PBS FOCUS will feature two Parkland segments at 7:30 PM. One will feature Fogelsville Elementary's Hour of Code event on PBS39 WLVT during FOCUS: Full STEAM Ahead. They will also air a segment about high school physics teacher Mr. Wetherhold. Repeats will air Sunday at 11:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. and Monday at 11 p.m.

Congratulations to Parkland SkillsUSA District Competition Winners
SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry representatives working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA helps each student to excel. SkillsUSA is a national organization serving teachers and high school and college students who are preparing for careers in technical, skilled and service occupations, including health occupations and for further education. SkillsUSA programs also help to establish industry standards for job skill training in the lab and classroom, and promote community service. SkillsUSA is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and is cited as a “successful model of employer-driven youth development training program” by the U.S. Department of Labor. Congratulations are extended to PHS students who are attending the Lehigh Career and Technical Institute and who won the following awards in the District SkillsUSA Competition:

Athletic Update
The following student-athletes were named to the 2015 Pennsylvania Football Sportswriters All-State Team: Kenny Yeboah, Noel Brouse, and Devante Cross.
The football team was also selected as the Morning Call Team of the Year.
Named to the Volleyball PA State Coaches Association All State Team were Kristin Krause (also Gatorade PA Player of the Year), Siena Salvaggio, Avery Perosa, Sam Webber and Erika Foose.
Volleyball player Kristin Krause and her father, Head Coach Mike Krause, along with their team were named Morning Call Player/Coach/Team of the Year.
Boys Soccer Player Jake Stengel and Girls Soccer Players Brooke Schutter and Rachel Medlar were PA Soccer Coaches Association All-State Selections.
The time is now to register for kindergarten or first grade for incoming new students.

REGISTRATION FOR NEW STUDENTS AT PARKLAND HIGH SCHOOL
Registration for new students entering Parkland High School next fall is scheduled for Monday, February 22, 2016 and Tuesday, February 23, 2016. A snow make-up date is scheduled for Thursday, February 25, 2016. The evening registration is designated for those students currently residing in the Parkland School District, but not attending Parkland schools. Parents who would like to make a registration appointment should call Parkland High School at 610-351-5610 Ext. 73432 and ask for Mrs. Kris Chenworth, Registrar, or email chenworthk@parklandsd.org.
