A message from the School Counselors
We have been busy visiting all of the classrooms presenting the new county-wide bullying prevention program for elementary schools called "Stop, Walk and Talk." This initiative is designed to empower our young learners with practical action steps to take when faced with bullying or conflict situations. If students experience a negative interaction with peers, first they will use the stop signal with a firm voice and eye contact. If the negative behavior continues, the next steps are to walk away and then report the concern to an adult. Please ask your child what they know about "Stop, Walk, and Talk," as they may find it to be a useful strategy at home too! Thank you for your partnership in maintaining a safe learning environment for all of our students!

Parent Input
As we begin to start planning for next year, we would like to provide families an opportunity to give input on student placement for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. Filling out this form is completely optional. This is an opportunity for you to share information that you would like us to consider when creating classes. We take great pride in carefully placing each and every student, with or without parent input. Please know that while we take this information into consideration there are many factors that go into class placement and we will do our very best to honor your requests, but cannot make any guarantees.
Below are a few guidelines to follow when completing the form:
- Please do not ask for a specific teacher by name or list any descriptors that indicate a particular teacher.
- Please do not request that your child be placed with another student, with the exception of twins.
- Submit a hard copy of your completed form to the attention of Mrs. Meador or Dr. Spooner by 3 pm on Monday, April 8. We will not be accepting submission by email. Late submissions will not be accepted.
- If you have multiple children at Eastvalley, please fill out a separate form for each child.
You can send your form in an envelope with your child. You can drop it off in the office during school hours or at the ASP desk until 6PM.

Get excited, Eastvalley families!
On April 17, 2024, Eastvalley students will lace up their sneakers for an exciting day of fun, encouragement, and school pride! Our students will raise funds from their community, friends, and family by participating in the inaugural Eastvalley Eagle Run.
The Eastvalley Foundation has enlisted the help of Activate to put on this event. The goal of the event is to raise $30,000. The school will keep 100% of the money raised.
This has been a momentous year for our school, as we have settled into our beautiful building, made possible by the generous funding of Ed-SPLOST V. However, some items were not in scope of the funding. Therefore, the proceeds raised by the students will be used toward the installation of playground shades and other enhancements for the school grounds. This is an amazing opportunity for the students to feel the impact of giving back to their school.
The program will officially begin on Monday, April 8th at the Eagle Run Student Kickoff Rally. However, if you want to get ahead of the flock, you can register today at gofundschools.com/eastvalley. To have the biggest impact possible, we hope that each student’s donation site can be shared with 10 people.
Part of the fun is that students will receive rewards when certain fundraising milestones are achieved per classroom. Examples of the rewards include an Eastvalley bracelet, extra recess, hat day, popsicle party and other fun events. There will even be school-wide rewards when the total achievement reaches $20,000. These will involve the participation of our fun and wonderful Eastvalley staff. More details of all the rewards will be shared along the way.
The Eagle Run will be held at school on Wednesday, April 17th. Parents are welcome to come cheer on their students. Here is the schedule of the grade level runs:
11:30-12:15 PM 1st & 3rd Grades
12:15-1:00 PM K & 4th Grades
1:00-1:45 PM 2nd & 5th Grades
We know how supportive our Eastvalley community is and how they care about the success of our students. We look forward to this wonderful event and seeing what we can achieve together!
Check out this fun video describing the event and share in our excitement! Also, be sure to keep an eye out for further information regarding the Eagle Run.
