Earth Day, Every Day!
The Cooperative Enrichment Office will launch a paperless office initiative for the 2016-2017 school year. Each request for service will be submitted through a digital submission link eliminating paper copies! Artist and vendors will also have the opportunity to save the planet and do their part in conserving resources by submitting their consultant contracts and other required paperwork through a digital submission system.
All links will be live on the Cooperative Enrichment web page beginning in July for artist and vendors and August/September for school districts.
The paperless system will provide a wide variety of benefits for schools including clarity and transparency with regard to expenditures, statistics and analytics surrounding standards and coser usage and "just in time" viewing of requests for services that will be dynamic and constantly up to date. These benefits are in addition to the cut in costs and life saving benefits to our friends the trees!
We look forward to working with the districts and vendors in the TST region to reduce our carbon footprint and celebrate Earth Day every day!
More than 300 students enter the 2015-2016 TST BOCES Creative Writing Contest
The TST BOCES Creative Writing Contest has come to a close after more than 300 students submitted their works. Students from 13 different schools and 35 classrooms submitted entries in writing, poetry, visual art, and music categories. This year every student who entered a submission will receive a participation ribbon and personal thank you letter from the Office of Cooperative Enrichment.
The winners in each category will be invited to a reception along with their teachers, administrators, and parents. The reception will be held at Barnes and Noble of Ithaca to help celebrate a nationwide effort to honor teen writers. The date for the reception is June 11 at 2:00 pm.
Students that are chosen as winners will be given the opportunity to share their works if they wish and enjoy prizes and refreshments that celebrate their achievement! Judges will begin the selection of first, second, and third place winners this month. Teachers, students, and parents can expect award notices and participation ribbons to arrive in mid to late May.
A hearty thank you to all who supported our students in their efforts to create amazing and personal works of literature and art.
