NEW! My Stop App for Families of Bus riders!!
Versatrans My Stop® is a mobile application that allows parents to access the location of their student’s bus and estimated time of arrival (ETA) to the bus stop. This solution will help each student board the bus on time by displaying the location of the student’s assigned school bus, as well as the estimated time of arrival to his or her stop. This will save time for parents and district employees by making it easy to access bus route information. This will reduce the amount of incoming calls to the transportation department. Parents can quickly retrieve the information they require from anywhere on their mobile device.
Follow Existing MNPS Bus Guidelines
The My Stop App will not change existing policies or guidelines for safe transportation of MNPS students including:
Students must arrive at the bus stop 10 minutes prior to bus arrival.
All students must board and leave the bus at their assigned stops.
In the event of severe weather, school closing information is available on the local television and radio stations, and mnps.org website or by calling (615) 259-INFO (4636).
Bus routes may be delayed at times, so we are offering families a mobile-ready option to see exactly where their child’s school bus is, and an approximate time
the bus will arrive at their child’s bus stop!
Getting the App
My Stop is part of the MNPS Tyler Versatrans Transportation software suite. The mobile app is available for download on iPhones and Android mobile devices.
Search for My Stop in the app or play store and select “Versatrans My Stop.” (Please note there are several My Stop apps, so please make sure you choose the Versatrans version.)
Here’s how you log into My Stop:
- Download the MyStop App in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Search "MyStop" by Versatrans with the logo above.
- Open the My Stop App to select "Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools (Tennessee)"
- Enter the Username (Student ID) and Password (Student Date of Birth - MMDDYYYY)
Benefits and Limitations
My Stop is designed to show a school bus’s location on a map, as well as the estimated time of arrival to a student’s specific bus stop. The bus’s location automatically updates every 1 to 2 minutes, meaning the estimated arrival time is continually updated to reflect any delays that occur while the route is delayed.
Unforeseen issues that occur will impair your ability to see accurate location or timing of your students’ bus arrival. If you experience one or more problems, please use the estimated bus stop time provided.
The following limitations could affect your ability to see the bus:
Bus Substitution: If the bus does not appear to be moving or arrival time data is missing, the bus running the route may have been changed and this is not be reflected in My Stop. Please have your student at the assigned bus stop 10 minutes before the estimated arrival time . If the app states “Bus is not running scheduled route” or “Bus is not active,” it does not mean there is a problem with the bus. All of our buses run multiple route each morning and afternoon. These messages may occur when a bus is in between routes or out of service for normal maintenance work and/or required Department of Transportation inspections. If you are waiting for the PM drop off, please contact the FIC at (615) 259-INFO to get the estimated arrival time.
Multiple Student Household: If you are not able to see more than one student’s bus route and arrival information at the same time in the application – please contact the FIC and provide your name, and the student’s full name and ID number. This may be due to the student not being linked to your family ID. Once this connection is made, you will see all your students bus arrival information in the application.
My Stop Mobile App or Network Issue: The My Stop data automatically refreshes the location of the school bus every 1 to 2 minutes. If My Stop does not show updated arrival time, or the map is not current (the bus has dropped off your student), the application may need to be removed and reinstalled. If this does not resolve the problem, please email Transportation at familyinfo@mnps.org with your contact information and someone will follow up with you.
Summary
Thank you for your patience as we work to provide the best solution for parents to receive timely access to transportation bus route information. We appreciate your continued support of Metro Nashville Public Schools!
