3rd Grade Writing Celebration
The 3rd graders did a great job of showcasing their writing. They indented and had strong paragraphs. The students enjoyed sharing their stories. They also enjoyed sharing their character.
Thanks to all of the parents that attended the celebration. Thanks to our 3rd grade teachers for all the work they did to make this a successful celebration for our students.
4th Grade Celebration
The 4th grade “Living Wax Museum” was phenomenal. The students learned so much about their person of purpose and really dressed the part.
They all did a great job of staying in “wax” mode.
Thanks to the 4th grade teachers for all the work they did to make this a successful celebration.
It was also great to see the students share their Social Studies projects in Spanish with their parents and guests.
2nd Grade Extended Math Glow Party
Mrs. Gonzalez’s 2nd grade Extended Math class earned a “Glow Party” for their work with IXL.
They answered the most questions in the month of February. Congratulations to these students.
Family Engagement
Talent Show
Lights, camera, action! We are excited to see our students perform on Friday. We'll begin promptly at 3:30 pm. Student performers can head straight to the MPR at dismissal on Friday. Families, please wait until dismissal is over before joining us.
If you would like to volunteer to help with this event, we need a couple people to help with technology/music, stage changes, and lining students up to perform. If you are interested please email Allison Bacalia at abacalia@cfsd16.org.
Spanish Corner
Learning along with your child, "Give your kids a compelling reason to learn a second language. As soon as they understand that studying Spanish will increase interaction time with you they will be extra motivated to engage." - Spanish academy TV
Language learning increases when the value of that language is heightened either due to necessity of communication, or in this case, The Spanish Corner's goal is to promote spending time together as family while learning Spanish.
Make it a Karaoke night!
Here are some traditional Mexican songs (and one newer one) that are fun to learn and sing together!
Learning Spanish as a family is the best way to learn the language -
¡Hasta la próxima semana!
