What is our PBiS Goal This Year?

Tiger Tickets Tally
The goal of the PBIS is to create an atmosphere of positivity and to foster community relationships between students, staff and administration. Using this framework, staff recognizes and affirms positive student behavior, as opposed to primarily disciplining negative behavior. The idea is to push the positive. The program is based on the understanding that the school will become more positive and the overall culture will grow when teachers and staff take the time to recognize positive student behaviors. To reinforce the positive behavior, staff recognize students demonstrating appropriate behavior with a tiger ticket. Tickets are submitted by the students to a bag in each homeroom and cashed out every week. Grade levels earning one thousand tickets or more earn an extra recess. ROAR not only rewards positive behaviors on an individual and homeroom basis, but it unites a large, diverse building as well. Beyond the hard numbers of outcomes, kids learn best in a positive, safe environment. Pictured are the grade level tiger paws displayed in our main lobby with tiger ticket tally totals for all to see.
