WHS Welding Students In Action!
Chase Watters uses a plasma arc line burner to prepare his welding coupon. This process is used to cut large sheets of steel down to 3"x3" test plates.
Maija Homola, and Aleisha Magnuson work on welding coupons. The CTE Welding students are currently finishing flat welds using the SMAW (stick) welding process. The test they are currently working on requires them to use 2013, 6011, 6010, and 7018 welding electrodes.
TJ Seablom uses an Oxygen Acetylene torch to cut a 1/2 diameter holl in a test coupon. Oxy Fuel torches are used for cutting and bending steel and require fine dexterity and skill to operate.
