Curriculum Corner
We will be spending this week and next week studying the economy. We will have a quiz over that material on Wednesday, 5/16.
Math:
This week, we will finish working on Unit 7. Study guides were passed out last week and are due Friday. Our test over this unit will be on May 15.
Science:
We will be wrapping up our environments unit this week, then will review and take our test next week on 5/16. We will finish observations on our plants this week to observe range of tolerance with different moisture and salinity levels. We were done with our isopods, so I set them free outside. We have 5 mealworms that are in the pupa phase....just waiting on the adult beetle to emerge! In STEM, they are studying their aquatic ecosystem.
Language:
Next week we will be focusing on narrative writing during language arts. We will read some mentor texts together before writing our own narrative stories.

Fish Friends
4th graders have been studying aquatic environments by observing goldfish, guppies, and snails. As the year draws to a close, we’d love to find good homes for our fishy friends. If you would like one (or more!) please sign up using the link below. Pick-up of the fish would need to occur on Thursday, May 17th or Friday, May 18th. Please arrange a pick-up time with Mrs. Skura (STEM teacher—jenskura@zcs.k12.in.us). Thanks!
Summer Garden Help
We are so excited to have our outdoor garden installed and ready to go this year! In order to make sure it's in great condition when students return in the fall, we'd love to have some help with summer maintenance. Please sign up below if you would like to "adopt" our garden for a week over the summer. Responsibilities would including weeding the garden, watering the plants, and harvesting any produce that is ready to picked. (A hose and sprinkler are at the garden site.) Thanks for your help!
