General information and reminders
https://arlingtonisd.nlappscloud.com/
- We want to remind parents not to park in front of the school (Fire lane or by the school's front entrance) at any time during the day. Please use the parking spots. Last week an ambulance was called to our school and it slowed their response. They didn't have a place to park in front of the school because during lunch time many cars were parked by the fire lane or front of the school's (sidewalk). Again, that is not a parking spot and we would appreciate your help to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
- Parents please remember to bring your dismissal card when picking up your students from school. If you need a new dismissal card please come to the office to pick up one. Please make sure that your student doesn't bring toys or candy to school. Please reach out if you have questions.
- If the students arrive after 8:20 a.m., parents must park their car and come into the office to sign them in; this is done for their safety.
- We will start a new procedure for tardy student sign in and early student pick up. We will provide parents with a QR code that will be posted outside our school and posted on our website. More instructions and information will be coming soon.
Morning arrival
When dropping the students in the morning in front of the school at 7:45 am, a staff member will be holding a stop sign to have every four cars stop and let their student out of their car and ensure that the students walk to the campus sidewalk safely. The staff with the stop sign will turn it around (sign will say slowly) indicating to slowly continue to move your car until the next four cars that need to drop off students stops. Please do not park your car by fire lane or side of the school. This causes a safety issue when students are being dropped off and the causes the flow of traffic to slow down.
Tardy Students
Please adhere to our new policy for late arriving students.
Students must be in the building before 8:20 a.m. If they arrive after 8:20 a.m., parents must park their car and come into the office to sign them in.
Parking
Please park in the available parking spots to come into the building. Please do not park in the fire lane in front of the school or stop traffic flow and leave your car unattended when dropping off your student in the morning. We also ask that parents not park their vehicles in parking spots labeled for specific school personnel or disabled individuals. When dropping off your student in the morning, if you are in the car line do not get out of your vehicle and delay traffic. If you need to talk or tend to your child please park your vehicle. We have car drop off in the front of the school and on the north side of the school.
Lunch
If you are coming to eat with your student please limit the visitors to two per student. Our cafeteria is small and it is getting crowded during lunch time making it difficult to have enough space to accommodate all visitors.
When sending lunch for your student please remember to Dojo your students teacher so that the teacher can have the student pick up the lunch on their way to the cafeteria.

Notes from the nurse
If your child requires medication at school (prescription or over the counter) a medication form signed by a parent and Physician must be on file for the 2023/24 school year.
That form can be found online on the health services department page or a this link Medication Request Form
Please contact the nurse's office for any questions or concerns at scollett@aisd.net
Blanton Families,
Flu season will be here soon and here is some help to distinguish between your child having a common cold or the flu:
Your child will have a fever, usually high, with the flu and a fever is rare with a cold. With the flu, there is usually a bad headache but rare with a cold. You have mild aches/pains with a cold but are very achy with the flu. Fatigue/weakness is mild with a cold but can be severe with the flu. A stuffy nose, sneezing, and a sore throat are common with a cold but only sometimes experienced with the flu. Coughing and chest discomfort is common with the flu but with a cold you usually have a mild hacking cough.
**If your child is diagnosed with the flu or has flu symptoms, your child must stay home from school until the student is free of fever for 24 hours without fever medication and the child feels like him or herself. **
Thank you for helping us stay healthy at school.
