From the Principal's Desk
Our lost and found rack is barely able to hold all of the coats, gloves, hats, scarves, boots, shoes, pants, etc... that have been lost and not found. All items left unclaimed will be donated on Friday, April 12.
M-STEP
The exams of your child are to start soon. I know you are all really anxious for your child to do well. But, please do remember, among the students who will be sitting for the exams there is an artist, who doesn't need to understand Math. There is an entrepreneur, who doesn't care about History or English literature. There is a musician, whose Chemistry marks won't matter. There's an athlete whose physical fitness is more important than Physics. If your child does get top marks, that's great! But if he or she doesn't, please don't take away their self-confidence and dignity from them. Tell them it's OK, its just an exam! They are cut out for much bigger things in life. Tell them no matter what they score, you love them and will not judge them. Please do this, and when you do, watch your children conquer the world. One exam or low mark won't take away their dreams and talent. And please, do not think that doctors and engineers are the only happy people in the world.
Empty Bowls and Art Show
On Friday, April 5th, from 5-8 pm, MHS will be hosting the 3rd Annual Empty Bowls and Art Show. Staff, students, and the community can come pick out a student made ceramic bowl to take home and have an all you can eat soup, salad, and dessert dinner for only $5! Kindergarten-12th grade art will be on display. Please consider attending, or perhaps donating soup, desserts, or paper products to this community event!

Third Grade
On Friday, March 22nd, the 3rd grade students were treated to a special guest reader for March is Reading Month. Our State Representative, Shane Hernandez, stopped by to read a book to the students and talk about the importance of reading. The students did an excellent job listening and being respectful. After he was done, Rep. Hernandez took questions from the students. They asked great questions about what and how he does his job in Lansing. Thank you Rep. Hernandez!
