Ms. Harris' Weekly Update
May 14th-18th
What's Going On This Week:
- Ms. Harris' Science: This week we are reviewing for our PASS test on Thursday. Students were given a blue study guide covering all science concepts taught this year. It is in the back of their science IAN. Students are encouraged to use this to help them prepare for Thursday's test.
- Ms. Harris' Social Studies: This week we are covering the end of the Civil War and the period of time known as Reconstruction. Students will be looking at how the war effected different groups of people, such as women and African Americans. There will not be a test/quiz over this information.
- Mrs. Thurston's Math/ELA: In reading and writing this week we will continue reviewing all of the skills we have learned from the start of the year. In math this week we will review every skill from the start of the year and continue our Tiny House Project!
- Ms. Harris' GT Math/ELA: In math we are reviewing for our SC Ready test on Tuesday. After Tuesday, students will be working on a math project in class to wrap up the year. In ELA, we are presenting our Expert for a Day talents. So far they have been really fun, and it's great to see the students try new activities. We will also be finishing up our memory book and writing letters of advice for the upcoming fourth graders.
Field Day is Friday (HOPEFULLY)
The weather is not looking good for Friday. I'm not sure when they'll make the decision about rain, but as soon as I know, I'll let you all know. The makeup day is Monday the 21st.
Last Day of ELA/Math Celebration
Please send in $5 to either me or Mrs. Thurston by Friday for our last day of ELA/Math pizza party. The pizza lunch will be on Tuesday the 22nd.
Golf Field Trip is Next Wednesday
If you have not already, please send in the new permission slips for the golf field trip by Friday. If you are a chaperone, I'll be sending out information to you later this week. Right now, I have Mr. Wilson, Mr. White, Mrs. DeWaele, and Mr. Swanson as chaperones. If that has changed or if you'd like to join us on the 23rd, please email me ASAP.
