Dear Parents and Carers,
We finish this week off with Number Day here at Balladen. We are raising money for the NSPCC. Thank you to all parents and carers who have worked so hard on the amazing T-shirts that many of the children are wearing and to all of you who have contributed to a very worthy cause.
We always have such busy weeks here at Balladen. We are very proud of the experiences that the children at our school have. This week was very special as it was the first time that children from Balladen had taken part in Young Voices. The children, staff and parents, who went to Manchester Arena on Wednesday night had an absolutely amazing time and were buzzing on Thursday. We are really looking forward to hearing more about their experiences at a later date. A big thank you to Mrs Pickup and Miss Sutcliffe for all of their hard work with the choir and organising the trip to Manchester. I'm sure that the children will not forget it.
Throughout the week we have had table tennis coaching , Zumba, football training, a new school governor visiting our school, hockey coaching, outdoor learning, cross country and a cricket final! This does not include all of the purposeful and exciting academic learning that always takes place each and every week.
In Year 5 and Year 6 this week the children have been writing science fiction stories. I have been lucky enough to read many of these stories and they are are incredibly well written with complex and advanced language. They are also very exciting! Please do ask your child to tell you about their story if you can.
Thank you everyone for another superb week of learning and fun at Balladen.
I look forward to seeing all of those Monday smiles.
With respect,
Mr Neil Ringrose
