Library Letters
Pumpkin Jack Update: In October students were read the story Pumpkin Jack and learned about the pumpkin life cycle. We had our own Pumpkin Jack in a jar to observe the process and had two seeds sprout. The sprouts started out strong, but decided not to show us more. We will hang tight and see if another will cooperate. It is worth the try!
Pictured: Library pet turtles Gillian and Gilligan.
We have had fun watching these hatchlings growing faster than we thought! Fair warning: if you plan to make a turtle part of your family, the struggle to keep the tank clean is real, but worth it!
Elementary Classes Chick Hatchings: From egg to chick
The chicks are coming soon to the library too! A couple of wonderful teachers have offered to share chicks when they hatch, as we did not have the space this year to hatch our own. Gillian & Gilligan are in their new tank, so will graciously let the chicks use their old tank as a brooding box. How kind is that? This is going to be fun!
