Mr. Glover's Weekly Update
Good afternoon Raiders. I hope that you all are having a restful weekend and are
looking forward to returning with us on Monday. I don’t know about you all, but I am still recovering from our very eventful week. I hope that all of our six graders and six grade families were able to share the wonderful stories of experiences from our Cuyamaca and Campus Camps. I want to thank everyone involved in making these events possible for our students. The reason things run as smoothly as they did, is due in huge part to all the educators and volunteers that are committed to ensuring that all BMMS students have access to the full enrichment available. I also want to send out thanks to the volunteers that assisted with the loading and unloading of the luggage. That was an amazing show of collective efficiency to get all of the bags, backpacks, and suitcases unpacked and in the right hands as we did on Friday. I love to see that our 4 founding characteristics are not just exhibited by our students.
Let’s have a great week everyone.
Please enjoy the announcements below.

AVID Applications Now Open
AVID applications are OPEN for future 7th and 8th grade students!
What is AVID? 🎓
AVID stands for Advancement via Individual Determination. It is an elective class during the regular school day that provides academic instruction and prepares students to go directly to a four-year university. Enrollment in this program is available to 7th and 8th-grade students at BMMS who fit certain criteria including strong citizenship and work habits, are recommended by teachers, and show individual determination as well as a desire to attend a four-year university. To be considered for the elective class, students are required to complete an application and interview.
For more information about the application, interview, and family info night, see more below:

ASB Spirit Day
Save the Date! Light The Night Fundraiser is Coming!
Families, our school has teamed up with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Light The Night starting on March 11th, to teach our students about kindness, bravery and how working together for one common goal will help both children and adults in their fight against cancer.
The money we raise will help blood cancer patients right in our community by funding research, providing free information, financial and support services, and advocates for blood cancer patients by seeking access to quality, affordable, coordinated care. Specifically, LLS is leading a collaboration to launch a global precision medicine clinical trial to fundamentally change how pediatric cancers are treated. Visit LightTheNight.org, find our school, and join your classroom team to get started raising money online! In order to help develop goal-setting, self-motivation and organizational skills, your student will earn a Light The Night t-shirt when they raise $100 or more.
Thank you families for your support of our Light The Night and be on the lookout for more information soon!
