Help End Water Scarcity in Tanzania
The contaminated world of Tanzanians
Getting clean water in Tanzania
Alec Wong
Thousands of children die every year from contaminated water in Tanzania. The water is contaminated with different chemicals like fluoride and diseases. Diseases in the water cause the children to get sick with diarrhea. Communities in Tanzania are severely impacted by uneasy access to clean water. The large amount of fluoridated water in Tanzania can cause deformity of teeth and bones which can cause deaths of thousands. We should end water scarcity in Tanzania in order to help with the crisis.
Consequence for water scarcity
When Tanzanians go to get water and consume contaminated water, there are some consequences they face. Those who walk to go get water sometimes get kidnapped. The youth of entire communities can lose valuable days of education by uneasy access to clean water because teachers sometimes get sick and that causes the entire class to have no school that day. Fluoride is also another problem in the contaminated water. It causes bones and teeth to have serious problems. If you drink fluoristic water for a long period of time, it can cause the deformity of teeth and bones. Deformity means that a part of your body is shaped differently and can look extremely weird. Deformity can cause deaths. We need a solution to solve this crisis in Tanzania.

Cleaning water with new technology
Organizations know about this problem in Tanzania and are trying to help. What are these organizations and how can they help? Let’s take a look. Defluoridated water is a lot more expensive than other water cleaning methods. The ‘Point of Use treatment methods’ help people to be able to use for other purposes. "Point of Use" treatment methods allow fluoridated water to continue to be used for other uses. The Wateraid organization has provided non-expensive (inexpensive) pumps to help get water easier and safer. They also provide mapping, which helps record information about location and condition to help the delivery of water. The Students Rebuild organization provides pipe networks of water, rain catchments, and latrines, which are all used to help get water. They also provide taps and pumps nearby that help entire communities. The Students Rebuild organization hopes that not a lot of people in Tanzania have to worry about the water they drink anymore. These organizations are here to help Tanzania with their water crisis by bringing in some new technologies. Millions of people need clean, safe water to drink, and I think that these organizations might solve this problem.
How you can save lives of thousands
If you think this problem is devastating, you’re right. But there is a way you can help. There are organizations that take notice in water scarcity in Tanzania. They have websites you can go on in which you are able to donate money to help support the cause. If you don’t want to donate, that’s fine. But there is still another way. You can try to create a technology yourself that will help the process of cleaning contaminated water. You can also join an organization to help out other people yourself. Writing a research document on the document is a great idea. You can spread the news worldwide to make people notice that water scarcity in Tanzania is a very devastating problem. You should help the Tanzanians with this water crisis because thousands of children die every year. You can make a difference to help these poor communities in Tanzania help save the lives of thousands.
