KIDS IN THE KITCHEN
Calling all kids who love to bake!!! If you love cookies, cakes and all sorts of treats, this is the perfect class series for you. Over four weeks, students will have the opportunity to learn how to make a wide variety of different baked items hailing from all around the world.
Week 1
Each student will learn how to first make a traditional pâte sablée crust followed by a rich vanilla pastry cream. They will then practice knife skills cutting the fresh fruit to top the tart with. A shiny apple glaze will be the final step in completing the almost too beautiful to eat tart.
Week 2
This week is all about chocolate (white, milk, dark & cocoa). Each student will learn how to make the Ultimate Triple Chocolate Brownies and super delicious Cookies N’ Cream Blondies. This is a great way to compare two bar treats that pair many different types of chocolate
Week 3
This week we explore the new, and trendy Russian piping tips by making flower covered cupcakes. These intricate piping tips allow their user to make beautiful, multi-colored flowers with amazing ease. Students will also have the opportunity to experiment with flavoring and coloring buttercream made from scratch.
Week 4
We wrap up this class series by tackling one of the more challenging baked goods, a marbled fondant cake. Each student will bake their own cake and make buttercream from scratch, then they’ll learn how to color, roll and cover their cake with fondant.
