Pre-K 4 Change
Holy Rosary Bilingual Academy
A Change for the Last Month of the School Year as We Prepare for 2018-19!
Parents,
We want to let you know of a change that we would like to make to the Pre-K 4 classrooms for the last month of the school year. We are going to do a little shuffling with the kids and the teachers. The small class will still have 8-10 students and the larger class will have 16-18 students. The reason behind this is two-fold. One is for the students and one is for the teachers/school. First, we think it would be good for the small class to have the opportunity to feel a part of a larger class prior to next year, in a comfortable and familiar setting. Next year, at this point, we will have one class of 25 kindergartners. This will be a big change for the kids in the smaller group and we want to start preparing them now. It will even be quite different for the larger of the two groups, which will increase by 7 students. Additionally, we need to determine Pre-K staffing for next year. As you know, Ms. Sonia is moving up to the 2/3 Spanish position. Ms. Juliet and Ms. Patty will be returning to Pre-K 4. We will have both classrooms, since we have enough students, but are still determining who will be in which role. Currently, we would have 2 lead teachers and one assistant teacher. We want to see how Ms. Juliet and Ms. Patty work as a team and how things go for Ms. Juliet in the larger class. We thank you for your openness to this switch. Based on personalities and a few other factors that have been observed throughout the year, we will be compiling the list of students by the end of the day on Tuesday and making the swap on Wednesday. Children are so adaptable that it should not be a major issue for most students. If you have specific concerns about your own child, though, just let us know! We will send out the new student lists for Pre-K 4A and B Tuesday night. It will be exciting for the kiddos!
Blessings,
Katie Dempsey
