Spring break is right around the corner! The best thing you can provide your student during this week is a routine and predictability. Create a visual schedule of the activities for each day during spring break. Are you going to a museum, the park, Sky Zone, a friend's house, the airport, or another city/state/country? No matter what you do provide them a visual of what they will be doing or experiencing each day. Change is difficult, but prepping them with visuals and choice can help with the anxiety. Below is a graphic to list the benefits. You can get see lots of examples by googling "visual schedules."
Enjoy life! Share smiles! Laugh lots!

The Principal's Pound
My favorite color is green, so Friday, St. Patrick's Day, was utter joy for me! I walked into our school where Lucky the Leprechaun had left surprises throughout the school. His creativity was unlike anything I have experienced at other schools. Green paper streamers all over the hallways from one end to the other. Some classrooms spent Thursday creating leprechaun traps. These traps were innovative, but they did not stand a chance for Lucky. He must have really really really had lots of water to drink before he came to our school because he tried out every toilet as well. He left chocolate poop in some of the traps, green footprints on the desks and even Ms. Fleming's fish tank. He was so excited he even lost a shoe in the ceiling tile which would explain the random footprints on the desks.
The pure joy, huge smiles, and fun-loving excitement made my entire week! I love this place!
As always, please let me know how I can help you as an individual or family, so we can be the best supportive team for your student!
Enjoy your week ahead!
