•Use my finger to track all the way through a word and also to track word by word.
•Reread to learn more about a topic or story.
•Use my partner to help me check tricky parts.
•Use pictures to check my understanding.
•Use high-frequency words to understand more in each sentence.
•Use my sounds to match the letter at the beginning of a word.
•Talk about my book, share my thoughts, and point to important parts of a story.
•Keep trying to understand words and sentences even when they get tricky.

Reminders
- Please remember to send your child with a water bottle everyday- the water fountains are turned off. Make sure to send a reusable water bottle that has a non-spill lid.
- Tennis shoes need to be worn on PE days.
- Please put names inside coats and jackets so it will be easier to return lost ones.
- Parents are responsible for sending a snack each day.
- Please remember to send library books back each Thursday so your child can check out a new one.
- Please remember to have your child wear shorts under their dresses because we do quite a bit of climbing and hanging upside down at recess!
For your information:
- Our fieldtrip to the Children's Festival is next Wednesday, November 9th. Please dress your child for the weather, as we will be outside all day. Layers that they can tie around their waist if they take off would be best. We will not have anywhere to put coats.
- Please let your child's teacher know if your child will need a sack lunch from school.
- Remember to send lunches in a bag we can throw away- there will be no where to store lunchboxes.
- Save the date! We will be doing our Kindergarten Thanksgiving celebration on Friday, November 18th. More details to come soon.
