MCAS Reminders For Students Taking The Exam (Class of 2026)
We wanted to share with families and students a few reminders for March 26th & 27th.
- It will be important for students to arrive on time for school and eat a healthy breakfast.
- All teachers have testing locations for students and you should receive communication directly from Dr. Gerade with your testing room location. We will also be posting them throughout the school for Tuesday morning.
- If students are having issues with their chromebooks, we would ask they access the help desk in the library as soon as possible.
- It is essential that students should have their school-issued chromebooks and chargers with them for both days of the exam, as we do not have enough backup devices for all 650+ test takers.
Students must earn a qualifying score on the ELA, Math, and Biology MCAS assessments to earn a diploma in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
MCAS Update - Logistics & Arrival
- Grade 10 students should arrive at our regularly scheduled start time. Buses will do a regular pick up for all of these students as well as any students accessing our Learning Center program.
If you/your 9th, 11th or 12th grade student is taking the bus to school please be at your bus stop at 9:50AM as buses will be coming right after elementary drop off. This may mean students are waiting for a longer period than usual at their stop but we want to ensure students do not miss their bus as times vary for elementary school bus runs. They will be entering the school around 10:30AM and we will have students engage in programming until transition to class at 11AM. All students will enter FHS at the auditorium doors and be directed to the specific locations listed below. Students will not be allowed to enter the main entrance due to students testing.
- Seniors may report to K002 for senior based programming.
- Students may access additional study space by reporting to H100.
- All other students will remain in the cafeteria - please note that no students will be able to walk the building from 10-10:50AM.
- If you/your student is being dropped off or they drive themselves, they do not need to arrive at school until 10:50 for a 11AM start. If students need to be dropped off at 10:30 like those who ride the bus, they will join in the programming we have planned for bus riders.
