News and Updates from Burton Street Elementary
October 2022
We are exactly 23 days into the school year and the Central New York fall is upon us! It has been a great start to the school year and it's been wonderful to see smiling faces and student's adapt well to the school environment. The leaves are changing colors and the temperatures are dipping. The fall season brings a sense of routine and coziness, but also excitement for the upcoming fall holiday season! Please be sure to read teacher newsletters regarding upcoming classroom events!
Parent/guardian-teacher conferences will take place the afternoon of October 21st. Home/school communication is highly valued and an important component to a child's success and well-being. Parent/guardians should expect to meet with their child's teacher a minimum of twice during the school year, with at least one meeting taking place in person or video conference. Conferences provide parents and guardians the opportunity to discuss their student's strengths and needs related to academics, social-emotional skills, adult/peer relationships and general day to day functioning.
We had our first character education assembly this morning and the student's loved it! It was wonderful to be together in the cafeteria. The theme of the assembly was "Always Safe" - be sure to ask your child about the LAKER expectations for always being safe!
Thank you all for your ongoing support and involvement!
