Julie Burchett shared, "We had one of the Real world Problems - Global Poverty class capstone projects happen last week--Webster Walks for Water. It was a walk-a-thon, where students went out and collected pledges for each lap they walked or ran. The student coordinators were Phoebe Cattoor, Miles Harmann, and Tori Watson. We are still tallying totals but we will have made over $725 to be donated to the WaterisLife organization. WATERisLIFE addresses the two components of the world water crisis: Water scarcity: by drilling wells and creating rainwater catchment systems and - Water quality: by providing a variety of cutting edge filtration technologies. Even though the students who created this event are seniors and will be gone next year, other students have already expressed interest in keeping this event going in the future!"
