Happy New Year!
With the change in the academic calendar we are well into the second trimester. This trimester our students will focus on opinion writing and will continue to learn how to use text based evidence to support claims. In math we continue to implement our new curriculum, Eureka Math. One of the most essential tenets of Eureka math is problem solving, using the read, draw, write strategies.
I would like to express a word of gratitude to our PTA. The PTA is doing a wonderful job supporting our school program. This school year, they have sponsored several successful events, Truck or Treat, Breakfast with Santa, Art Night and two Book Fairs. These events help promote a positive school culture. Additionally, the PTA provided food, shoes and jackets for students during the holiday season. We are very grateful for the continued support of our PTA. Thank you to all PTA volunteers. Follow the PTA on Instagram at PachappaPTA.
Again, Happy New Year!
Sincerely,
Erica Square, Principal

Traffic Safety and Student Safety
Riverside Driveway is closed during dismissal. We encourage that you park at the plaza or church parking lot and walk to meet your child. Please use crosswalks, we do not encourage jay-walking. Do not allow your child to cross on their own, always meet them at the school site, it is the safest place. During dismissal, do not enter through the bus line on Sunnyside Drive, there are many students and parents walking. Be safe and courteous. Thank you for your understanding.
Attendance
Did you know that attendance is the number one predictor of high school graduation rates. It is imperative that your child attends school on a daily basis. Irregular attendance will directly impact their education. Please continue sending your child to school on a daily basis.
Monday Morning Announcements
Every Monday morning Pachappa does Monday morning announcements. We do the flag salute as a school and the character counts pledge. We are looking for special guests, community members, doctors, lawyers, police officers, etc., to come on Monday morning to give our students wise words of advice to keep them on the path of success. Email: jborja@rusd.k12.ca.us to make arrangements.
