Businesses that participate in our Career Expo will have the opportunity to distribute applications, receive resumes, interview students, and provide insight on skills and experiences our students will need gain employment.
May STAAR Testing Information: May 7-9
STAAR Testing:
- May 7th - Algebra I
- May 8th - Biology
- May 9th - U.S. History
Testers will need to be at school and in testing rooms before 8:05 am on testing days.
All students who are not testing on any of these days will need to report to school in the afternoon. Lunch will be served for non-testers on May 7-9 from 11:45-12:45.
Afternoon Schedules:
May 7th - students will report to B1 classes from 12:45-2:15, and B2 classes from 2:20-3:50
May 8th - students will report to R3 classes from 12:45-2:15, and R4 classes from 2:20-3:50
May 9th - students will report to B3 classes from 12:45-2:15, and B4 classes from 2:20-3:50
Attendance will be taken at 12:45 pm on these days. It is imperative that students attend school for the required amount of time on STAAR testing days. Low attendance will result in required regular day attendance on STAAR testing days and loss of days off during exemptions.
Buses for testers will run at normal times. Buses will also run for non-testers at 11:00 am May 7th-9th.
End of Year Exemptions Information
It is getting close to exemption time. The following requirements must be met in order for a student to receive exemption status:
- Students may not exempt if they have 4 or more absences in a class period.
- Students may not exempt if they have 4 or more tardies in a class period.
- Students must maintain an 85 or above average in a class in order to be exempt.
- Students with perfect attendance are granted an extra exemption that can be used in any class as long as they have a 70 average and they meet attendance requirements.
- Exemption forms must be turned in to the office in order to exempt any classes.
- If students have to take a test at any time during a final exam day, they may check out after their exam time is over. They must remain in the class during the entire testing time.
- Students are not exempt from review days. All students must attend and stay in class on review days - MAY 16th & 17th
DEBTS: Exemptions will be held until all debts are paid. If a student receives a bill, the debt
must be paid in order to receive the exemption form.
1. Student takes the bill to the teacher listed.
2. Pays debt.
3. Teacher will sign the bill and remove the debt from the database.
4. Student returns the signed bill to Ms. Soltero to receive exemption form.
