Foster Care
What are the steps in foster care? why do kids end up there?
introduction
Imagine your parents never showing affection… AT ALL. It almost seems like they hate you. From the way they beat you every day, pinch you or scratch you when no one is looking. Maybe they tell you that you were a mistake and they hate you all the time. But on the good days they are perfect, talking to you. hugging you. saying that they love you. Although you know deep down they will never change. until you tell your friend about what’s been happening and now you're going to foster care. Alone and scared. But hopefully the Foster parents are nice.
foster care is a system that kids are put in when they are placed in it. when they are placed in it they can be adopted and never see their parents again. Although you could go in with brothers and sisters and come out with. millions of kids get placed in it.

why kids get placed in foster care
There are many different ways kids end up in foster care. Sometimes it’s deadly… sometimes not so much. Occasionally they're in there for a short time some life...but they end up there. In the article called “Foster Care” from The Encyclopedia of Adoption, kids often get placed in foster care because they are beaten or ignored in the home there in . That’s bad for the children. The kids could have been traumatized in the home they were in. On the top of That The kids could lie to you because they don’t trust you, that’s because the kid's parents sometimes can’t take care of them and have to put them in a foster home. For a short while. There are about 523,000 children in foster care in the United States, That’s because some parents beat their kids because of anger at someone else or alcohol/ drugs. Instead of sending them to a family member to get better. For an example in the Different like you article by VELEZ, ANGELA and BIANCHI, JANE, Angela got beaten by her mother when she was mad. In addition to that Angela would hide the bostes and scratches because her mom told her to. That does something to a kid. Angela thought she was a bad kid when she wasn’t. The weird thing was when her mom was in a good mood she would say that she would be there for her. Until one day she told her friend everything and her friend mom called CPS. Then angela was taken away from her mom, and went to a foster home. Even though she bought 8 bags of stuff. Nothing made her feel at home. Not even the foster parents. After that she went to another foster home. Angela’s new foster parents made her feel more at home. but Angela still thinks if she was a better kid this wouldn’t have happened.

from a foster parent view: built in problems
Some kids comes to you with built-in problems. For instance they could have been in several homes already and is quite frightened, or else the child has just been removed from a bad family situation and this makes them afraid. But you would be too because That’s not good because in the last foster home they could have been bullied by the other kids in the foster home. That maybe is why they act out. Or not trust you. Imagine yourself in their shoes. Moved from foster home to foster home. never seeing their original family again. You would do the same thing, and would try to test the foster parents. Like they would do to you. By not listening. Saying a real parent does this or that. For an example they will break things, and won't let you love them. They’ve been hurt so many times by different people. People don’t know what they went though. even though foster parents can choose the sex of their child, the kid will still have built in problems.
