Patriot's Pointe
Happy Sunday Patriot Families!
Greetings Patriot Families,
We have 2 instructional days left before our students take the Georgia Milestones Assessments beginning with American Literature for all 11th Grade students on Wednesday, May 1st-2nd. Parents, we will need your help as on time arrival to school will be a critical component for a successful testing administration this week. A special thank you to Mrs. Beecham, Ms. Flakes, Dr. Lukiri, and Ms. Douglas for facilitating EOC Milestones Prep in the areas of Science and Social Studies over the weekend. Additionally, our AP teachers have created a series of Mock AP Exams that students can use to practice their skills before taking the assessments next month. The mock exam schedule is featured further down in our newsletter. We are providing all families with a host of 2024 EOC Resources that your scholar can review at home. These resources contain the blueprint, assessment guide, and achievement level descriptors for each tested subject: Algebra Concepts and Connections, American Literature, Biology, and U.S. History.
Voting for the new members of our SCHS School Council closed on Friday and our newest members featured further down in our newsletter. Thank you to everyone who voted and we are looking forward to your support for the upcoming school year.
Our Band held its annual Spring concert on Thursday under the direction of Mr. John Kelley and Mr. Brian Cleveland. Fine Arts student Faith Livinus submitted an original piece of artwork for the Inaugural Fayette Fling held at Falcon Field on Friday. Her art was featured in an auction and proceeds will benefit Sandy Creek High School. We hope to see all of you this week to support our Orchestra Spring concert on Monday evening and our Chorus Spring concert on Friday of this week.

We are excited to announce that our Boys and Girls Track teams have both won the Region and will go on to compete in the Track State Championship May 8th-10th. Please continue to support our track team as we will them on to victory! Our JROTC held their awards ceremony and recognized our standing cadets for their leadership, service, and commitment to the program last week. They also participated in the RISE community service initiative over the weekend. Finally, we recognized our underclassmen scholars last week for Academic Honors Night. We are so proud of all of our students and the many ways they get to display their talents with a Competitive Advantage!

Friends and Family Sponsorship
We have a rich tradition in athletics here at Sandy Creek with more than 10 State Championships in sports such as football, basketball, track, and volleyball.
Our scoreboard was built in 1991 and we are in need of a new board to match our dynamic and talented athletic teams. The vision at Sandy Creek High School is to provide students a competitive advantage in whatever endeavor they choose after high school. With your assistance we can help the students prepare for those endeavors while branding your business and supporting our community. Please view the information attached about the sponsorship and digital scoreboard.
We would like to recognize our FIRST Family Sponsor, The Harvey Family! The Harvey Family has donated $1,000 to our scoreboard fundraiser and we are hoping you can match or double their contribution soon! Who will be next to accept the challenge????
Corporate Sponsorship
SCHS hopes that your company would be interested in becoming a premier sponsor for our digital scoreboard program! Parents of Rising 11th grade Students
As your child transitions to the 11th grade, we want to ensure their health and safety remains our top priority. This is a reminder regarding the meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4) booster dose requirement for students who have turned 16 years old.
According to the Department of Public Health (DPH) guidelines, students are due for one booster dose of the meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4), unless their initial dose was administered on or after their 16th birthday.
Please note that the DPH will be conducting an audit of 11th-grade students at SCHS on September 6, 2024. To facilitate compliance and ensure your child's participation in school activities is not disrupted, we kindly urge you to take this opportunity to schedule your child's vaccination appointment before September 6, 2024.
Student Parking passes are available all year for $60 and should be displayed in the bottom corner of the driver's side windshield.

Doorway to College Foundation is continuing the work of the former ZAPS Learning Company, which was also dedicated to providing quality test prep to students who can't afford hundreds of dollars — or more — to raise their scores.

The Campus Parent portal is your source for student and family records, including household and individual contact information, attendance, school-based fees, academic planning (high school), forms, and report cards. The Parent portal also provides access to the GaDOE SLDS Portal. Please set up the parent Infinite Campus account first. The same username will be shared with Schoology to set up your parent account in Schoology. Because each login reflects the person associated with the username, it is recommended that a separate account is created for each parent.
- Usernames can be comprised of letters, numbers, the underscore, and dash.
- Please refrain from creating a username that is all numbers, as that will interfere with student data here in our district.
- After completing the setup of your parent portal account, please allow 24 hours for your new account information to be sent to Schoology before attempting to log into your Schoology parent account.
