THE COMMUNITY LION'S ROAR
March 2024
LION'S MINUTE:
Information about Lindenwold School District construction projects and funding!
At this time, Lindenwold is not planning to transition to an early dismissal day of school. Instead, we have ordered solar eclipse glasses for our students! (Note: LHS will be dismissed prior to the eclipse time window.)
Please use caution when driving as some drivers may stop their vehicles to look at inopportune times. We will continue to monitor the weather as we get closer to the day.
March 1st was National Employee Day! Here was just a little something to remind our staff we appreciate them!
The Board of Education invited a Safety & Security Expert to conduct a presentation to the community. He spoke about the importance of early intervention and he reviewed several weapon screening technologies along with video analytic technologies, etc. It was extremely informative, and provided the District with important insight.
Amazon Future Engineer Teacher Ambassador Program
Mr. Callow is one of 50 inaugural cohort members of the Amazon Future Engineer Teacher Ambassador Program. It is a very new program. As he begins to end the year of this fellowship, he partnered with an educator from Central Slip, NY and co-presenter on "Expanding CS to Elementary and Middle Schools."
It is so amazing to have a LINDENWOLD TEACHER in the first cohort who had the opportunity to work with 49 other educators across the country in the area of STEM.
LINDENWOLD & NEWSELA PARTNERSHIP
During the first week of March, which is Read Across America Week, students at Lindenwold Preschool, School 4, and School 5 heard from guest readers across the community including Lindenwold Police Officers, Board of Education members, and District Administrators. Everyone loved sharing in the joy of reading together!
In honor of March Madness, we had our own madness throughout the day. Staff competed in the Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament across the District!!!! Congratulations to Ms. Nasima Tukhi for taking home the championship!!!!
FINAL ROUND: CONGRATULATIONS MS. TUKHI!!!!
Congratulations to both Emilio Hernandez and Brandon Martinelli who will be continuing their education and soccer careers with the Roadrunners - Rowan College of South Jersey!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!
This month, Mia Faustin represented the Lindenwold School District by engaging in a Camden County 8th Grade Dialogue Night. Mia did an outstanding job field questions and sharing her insight about variety of topics related to education. We are so proud of Mia and honored to have her represented our Lions!
What an AWESOME family event at LHS. Our Teen Pep Student Leaders (Teen Prevention Education Program) was a huge success. Our students taught adults how to have challenging conversations with their children. They performed educational skits, led small group discussion sessions, facilitated a sharing out of that discussion, and concluded with a teachable moments experience. And an extra special thank you to our Teen Pep Advisors (Ms. Campbell & Ms. Severance).
Ms. McManis shared a presentation on our new Twilight Program. Our students have been working hard!
Building a partnership is where is ALL begins!!!!! Thank you to everyone who came out. It was a great evening!!!!
During our last meeting, Mrs. Callow spoke to parents regarding ways in which they can help support their children with coping strategies, social media protections, and she discussed the Anti-Bullying Law, too. Thank you to all of our parents who attended!
...for math fans to recite infinite digits of Pi, talk @ math, & eat pie.
What a great night to come out your families and play some math games!!!
The Senior celebration has officially begun! Don't blink - because time will fly by too quickly. There are so many fun things ahead over these next 2.5 months. We can not wait to have fun right alongside of these awesome students.
