Hello, Longwood Families!
E-Learning Day on Tuesday!
This Tuesday, March 19th, we will have a district-wide E-Learning Day. March 19th is a voting day and many of our district schools serve as polling locations. Students will not be in attendance at Longwood on Tuesday. Instead, we will meet for live instruction through Google Meet. Classroom teachers will share information regarding their schedule and the links students will need to join their virtual classroom. Please be sure to check your email, Class Dojo, and your child's backpack for information. Kindergarten and first grade students will bring home their Chromebooks on Monday. Attendance will be taken on Tuesday while on Google Meet. If your child is unable to be in attendance on this day, be sure to call the main office at 630-428-6789 to report your child as absent.
Arrival & Dismissal Safety Concerns
Safety is our #1 Priority at Longwood and we especially want to maintain safety at arrival and dismissal. There have been growing concerns about the car line and we want to share important reminders below:
- Drivers must stay alert and follow the guidance provided by our car line teachers. Car line staff are there to assist in ensuring the safety of all students and streamline the process for everyone's convenience.
- Vehicles are expected to pull all the way forward and around the circle drive before students exit their vehicle. This helps with a smooth flow and limits congestion on Bruce Lane.
- Students must exit the passenger side of the vehicle, closest to the sidewalk. We understand that there may be circumstances with younger siblings' carseats on this side, but we respectfully request families to consider adjusting accordingly for safety.
