Hello Hilltopper Families!
Color Run will be taking place at Park on May 3rd! Join us in making a COLORFUL difference for our school community by fundraising for this PTO event! Your participation not only supports vital educational resources and programs but also promotes health and wellness among our students. At Park Elementary, the PTO serves as a dynamic force, dedicated to enhancing the educational journey of our students. Through engaging fundraisers, fun filled activities for students, community and family-centered events and supportive volunteer programs, the PTO enriches the school experience for all.
I am excited to watch our Color Run fundraising total grow and can’t wait to see who will be Principal for the Day! It's wonderful to hear the students’ excitement surrounding other prize categories as well- the classroom cupcakes, grade level popcorn parties and extra recess! These fun activities not only bring joy to the students but also foster a sense of camaraderie and teamwork within our school community. We're incredibly grateful for the dedication and hard work of our PTO in organizing these wonderful events and making them possible.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Makee

Students in Mrs. Picone’s third grade class found a way to bring sunshine to their teacher on a rainy indoor recess day. Using tangram blocks and their geometry skills, they pieced together the shapes to construct a beautiful array message for their teacher. Through this hands-on experience, they not only had fun but also enhanced their critical thinking skills, laying the foundation for future mathematical and artistic endeavors.
World Language Learning
Students in 2nd and 3rd grades at Park have spent time learning about Francophone countries and preparing a weather report for their country. Now they are getting ready to pack their valise. This week they are creating a dictionnaire personnel of clothing vocabulary by finding words and pictures hidden around the room. They're doing a fantastic job!

IMPORTANT- BLIZZARD BAGS
Since we have reached our 5th calamity day, we want to inform you about our Blizzard Bag Plan for Park Elementary which went home on February 9th. We are providing Blizzard Bags to your child in the event of inclement weather resulting in a school closure. This will enable your child to continue their learning at home. These bags will contain TWO DAYS WORTH of assignments and activities which align with their current curriculum. Your child's teacher will provide instructions and we encourage you to engage with your child in completing these assignments to ensure continuity in their education. As for the specials classes, complete ONLY the activity for the special the child has on that calamity day. You will have 10 school days to complete each day's Blizzard Bag assignments. For example, if we have a snow day on March 1, the bag would be due on March 15th. We appreciate your support in making learning a collaborative effort, even on snow days. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or the school office.
