Happenings This Weekend- Guys and Dolls
I hope each of you has recovered from Day Light Savings last weekend. Hopefully, each of you had an opportunity to enjoy some of the beautiful weather we have had for the previous few days. Please consider joining us this weekend for our musical performance of Guys and Dolls. Performances will be held on Friday, 3/15, at 7 PM and Saturday, 3/16, at 2 PM and 7 PM! Tickets can be bought at Showtix4u.com, and concession bags will be sold for $10 CASH at intermission. The theater department also holds a food drive for SAGE Eldercare, so please consider donating non-perishable food to performances. We hope to see you there!
Dress Code
I hope that everyone has had a chance to enjoy the nice weather over the past few days. With the warmer weather, I would like to take this opportunity to discuss a sensitive but essential topic. Middle school is a trying time for our students, and many struggle with navigating adolescent development. Many of those challenges include fitting in by wearing current, fashionable clothing and garments. While the administration at the middle school understands that clothing is an integral part of self-expression, we ask that all of our students wear clothing suitable for school. As the weather gets warmer, please keep this in mind as your child dresses for school. We want to ensure that our school is an appropriate place for learning. Links to our student handbook regarding dress code can be found here (on page 12).
Science Olympiad State Tournament
We are thrilled that LCJSMS shined at the NJ Science Olympiad State Tournament! Our dedicated students enthusiastically participated in all 23 events, showcasing their knowledge, skills, and passion for science. Despite the challenges of the events, our students approached each one with confidence and determination. Their hard work and dedication throughout the preparation process truly paid off, and they represented our school admirably. Congratulations to our incredible students on their outstanding performance at the NJ Science Olympiad State Tournament!
Communication
Parents, please note that our administrative team always remains committed to assisting with your concerns. However, we ask that you, as a general rule of courtesy, if you have questions or concerns regarding one of your child's classes, please get in touch with the classroom teacher as a rule of thumb before contacting the building administration or school counselor.
