January 2016
Happy New Year Bedminster community! I can't wait to see all of the positive things that we are going to accomplish in 2016!
Our administrative team has been busy working toward our district goals, revising school policy, and coming to a conclusion on a new Student Information System that will be launched school wide this summer. A new and improved system that works with state reporting and streamlines our support staff's daily operations is just as important as a system that is user friendly to all families of Bedminster School; and that is exactly what we need. As we have more details about the roll out later this Spring, we will inform you as to how you will benefit from the new student information system.
I have been asked about the temperature that we use to determine if we are going outside for recess and I want to reiterate that it is 32 degrees or above. Please make sure that your children are equipped with the proper winter attire to go outside. On days where we have indoor recess, the teachers will do their best to create and encourage educational games with movement, if possible.
Thank you to those who were in attendance for Mrs. Bartlett's PARCC presentation at Tuesday's PTO Meeting. We are very proud of the students and teachers for their efforts and we appreciate the parental support that we received leading up to and during the testing times.
Please remember that 8:45 am is the earliest students can be dropped off in the morning. It is a safety issue because if they are dropped off prior to that, we do not have supervision for them. Thank you so much in advance for following this procedure.
Marking Period 2 will end on Tuesday, January 26th with Marking Period 3 beginning on the 27th. Report Card Grades will be available on Thursday, February 4th at 4:30 pm.
Also on February 4th, the GFWC Junior Woman's Club of the Somerset Hills, Inc. will hold their Annual Spelling Bee for 4th and 5th grade students here at Bedminster School. Please see our website for more information.
Please remember that there is no school this Monday, January 18th in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's birthday. Everyone Have a Great Weekend! Please read below for more BTS highlights!!!
