CLMS Family Update
April 5, 2024
Leading ALL Students to College, Career, and Civic Readiness
From CLMS Principal, Mr. Eric Pettit
Good Afternoon CLMS Families!
We all hope you had an amazing Spring Break and are excited for the upcoming solar eclipse. Mrs. Donna Kill, a NASA Partner Eclipse Ambassador, was on the announcements today to remind students how important it is to wear eclipse glasses when viewing this event. They were distributed yesterday at the end of the day to all students. Don't forget, there is no school for students on Monday.
CLMS is off and running for quarter 4, the final 9 weeks of the 2023/24 school year! There are several activities, events, and trips planned that are really going to make this time fly. We really are excited to see our students succeed as we enter the final stage of the school year.
Report cards for quarter 3 are now available for viewing on PowerSchool. Instructions on how to access them are included in this update. Additionally, families can find information on the upcoming Ohio State Tests, Pals of Pirates 5/6 Dance, an update regarding CLMS social media, pictures from the week, and more! Please contact the CLMS office if you have any questions.
As always, Go Pirates!

CLMS Classroom Highlight: Preparing for the Ohio State Tests
The night before the Ohio State Tests, students should ensure they get a good night's sleep to feel rested and alert on test day. On the morning of the tests, it's crucial for students to have a nutritious breakfast to fuel their minds and bodies. For students that are car riders or walkers, they are encouraged to arrive at 8:15am to maximize time before the beginning of the tests. Students will take ELA part one on Thursday, April 11th and part two on Tuesday, April 16th. Testing will finish for most students by 10:45am. As a reminder, once a student begins a test, they will be unable to leave the test location until they have submitted their assessment. Students have been working hard all year and everyone at CLMS is excited to see them demonstrate what they have leared!
Quarter 3 Report Cards
As mentioned above, Quarter 3 report cards are now available for viewing on PowerSchool ! These two items will help families view them for those that need any assistance accessing them.
5th and 6th Grade Families with students in Study Skills: This is a valuable course designed to enhance students' learning strategies and organizational skills; however, it is important to note that this class is not graded. The focus is on providing students with the tools and techniques needed for academic success rather than assigning a formal grade to their performance.
