Detail (CCS)
Cause
As a young boy in his childhood, Joseph did not like his name so he changed it to Stalin. He was always a tough male since a child and as he grew up he participated in the Russian revolution and a couple of other wars. He transformed the Soviet Union from peasant society into industrial and military superpower. However he ruled by terror and millions of his own citizens died under his brutal ruling.
Characteristics
- The name "Stalin" means "Man of Steel", and by this you can already get the idea of how strong Joseph was while ruling in the Soviet Union.
- Joseph Stalin was shorter than the average man. Because of this President Truman nicknamed him "The little Squirt".
- Joseph Stalin was responsible for the death of at least 20 million people.
- Quote from the mad mind of Joseph Stalin is " One death is a tragedy, one million is a statistic."
Siginificance
Joseph Stalin has impacted in many ways for the whole world. As he began to gain power and started ruling the Soviet Union, him and his other companions tried to make a communist world. He succeeded in some countries to make them that way but didn't succeed in his main goal, to make the whole world communist. Another way Joseph Stalin impacted the world, is that he was a participant in the beginning of the Korean War. Because Stalin told North Korea it was okay to attack South Korea ( United States Allie/friend) therefore creating another was between countries but centered more on North and South Korea with the other powers from the US and the Soviet Union/Russia.
