Registration Special
Reminder: Course Registration for 2024-2025 School Year
Hello families of current 6th and 7th graders! This is a reminder that 6th and 7th grade students have received their course registration cards to request elective classes for next school year. We ask that you review your child’s course requests with them and sign the course card, then have your child return it to their advise teacher by Friday, March 15. Course descriptions can be found on the back of the cards as well as here.
In addition to electives, schedules will have an advise class and four core content classes: Math, Science, Social Studies/History, and English Language Arts (ELA). Information regarding Honors applications and accelerated placement can be found in the Honors Newsletter.
Registration information for incoming 6th grade students will be available when next year’s 6th grade counselor, Jen Baker, visits our feeder elementary schools following spring break. Information will also be provided to families who are choice enrolling at Dunstan.
Please contact your child’s school counselor with registration questions:

Information for 7th Grade Parents
Dear Parent/Guardian, on Tuesday, March 26 and Thursday, March 28, all 7th grade students will be receiving a presentation on “Cyber Safety” from Jae Dee Wood during their science class time. Jae Dee Wood is a Prevention Specialist with the State of Colorado. This presentation focuses on age-appropriate information on topics related to healthy relationships and engaging in unsafe behaviors online. You may email Social Emotional Learning Specialist, Leslie Pruitt at leslie.pruitt@jeffco.k12.co.us if you have any questions or concerns. If you would like to OPT-OUT of this presentation for your child, please fill out THIS FORM and return by Friday, March 15.
From our District RN
Thank you to everyone for their diligence in notifying our school of illnesses and picking up your students as illnesses arise throughout the day. As you may have noticed, there have been an increased number of illnesses circulating since we returned from winter break. Dunstan works hard to keep our students and staff safe and healthy so they can learn and lead and we couldn’t do it without your partnership.
We use CDE’s How Sick is Too Sick guidelines for determining if students or staff should stay in building, but recognize illness is subjective and not everyone perceives illnesses in the same light or has the ability to stay home. Please encourage your student to wash their hands regularly and stay home when they are too sick to learn.
Please note, the CDC has updated its guidelines on COVID. Here’s to a germ-free spring! Thank you again, Lydia Potter, RN Lydia.Potter@jeffco.k12.co.us
From our Dean of Students
We have noticed a few students outside the gym jumping and hitting a low-hanging camera. This has caused the camera to malfunction a few times this school year. Luckily, our Infrastructure Technologies team has been able to reboot the camera and bring it back online. However, they also told us that the camera is older and more susceptible to being broken. Because this is a 270 degree three lens camera, the cost to replace would be around $2,300 to replace the camera.
This said, if a student were to break the camera, their family would be liable for the replacement cost. Please inform your student to refrain from touching or tampering with any cameras within reach. This would be an expensive replacement and we do not want any student to be responsible for damages.

Social Emotional Learning
This week in Advise, students learned more about the #WHYYOUMATTER project and the difference they make in the lives of others. This is an amazing opportunity for students to find their reason for why they matter (since we know EVERYONE matters). Feel free to ask your student their reason for why they matter and I hope you feel comfortable sharing yours with them!
