Welcome back Huskies!
We are so excited to get the new school year started and see all our new friends. The teachers and staff have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to prepare for this new school year. Our campus ready to welcome students back. We are happy to welcome both returning and new students to campus. I look forward to providing opportunities for us to get to know each other and learn all about your families, your needs and wants for our school. I will see you around campus, at our Title meeting, and morning coffee.

Important Information Kinder - 6th grade
Wednesday, July 20th- First day of school. Please note that parents will be allowed on campus to walk students to class in the morning on the first day of school only. Starting Thursday, July 21st only students will be allowed on campus.
Kinder- 6th grade Hours: 8:30 AM- 3:00 PM
Please note that gates will not open until 8:00 AM. Students are not allowed to be on campus before 8:00 AM. If your student is late after the gates have closed 8:30am, you will go to gate 4 on West Side of Campus. See below for more Drop off / Pick up information
Bell Schedule
8:00 Gates Open- students are allowed on campus. They must report straight to the playground after placing their backpack by their classroom door. Please note that ONLY students and staff will be allowed on campus during the school day, unless it's a special event, you are volunteering or attending a school-sponsored class/meeting. You will need to sign in at the front office and receive a Visitors Sticker.
8:15-2:45 Preschool Hours- Preschool Families will need to go into classroom to sign in /out - See Preschool section
8:25 First Bell rings for K-6
8:30 Second Bell rings for K-6 (students arriving after the second bell will be marked tardy).
2:55 Kindergarten students will be escorted to their pick-up location.
3:00 Bell rings - Students dismissed
First Day of School
Families will be allowed to escort their Huskies to class on the first day of school in the morning. We want to kick off the school year in a special way. After the first day, non-staff adults will not be allowed on campus to drop off or pick up their Husky. Please make sure that you and your student know where they are to report to at the end of the day. If they are a car rider, please use the Sunset pick-up location, which is on the West side of campus.
PRESCHOOL
Pre School hours- 8:15 AM- 2:45 PM *Drop off and pick up at the Sunset parking lot only. Teachers will open gate and allow parents with Preschool lanyards to come to the preschool classroom to drop off and pick up their student. Preschool parents are not allowed to walk other students to their classrooms, only preschool.
NO EARLY DROP OFF FOR PRE SCHOOL
If you are late, you will need to go to the front office to sign in and then walk your preschooler to the classroom. ALL PRESCHOOL PARENTS ON CAMPUS MUST BE WEARING PRESCHOOL LANYARDS.
See your preschool teacher if you need one.
Uniforms / Dress Code
Tops:
White, red, or navy blue are the only acceptable colors. Shirts may be short sleeved or long sleeved but MUST have a collar. No logos are allowed. White, red or navy-blue turtlenecks or undershirts may be worn.
Sweaters/sweatshirts:
Lightweight sweaters or sweatshirts may be worn.
Bottoms:
Boys may wear navy blue- or khaki-colored long pants or knee length shorts. No baggy pants or shorts are allowed. Pants must be worn at the waist. Belts are optional. Girls may wear navy blue- or khaki-colored long pants, Capri pants, or knee length shorts. Navy blue or khaki modest length jumpers may also be worn. Jeans may be worn on Fridays with a uniform shirt.
Shoes:
Flip-flops and sandals are not acceptable. Shoes must adhere securely at the heel and be tied properly if they were designed to do so.
Socks:
Socks, leggings, or leg warmers may be worn.
Fingernails:
False nails of any type are not allowed, including acrylic or gel.
FRIDAY DRESS CODE:
School shirts, club shirts, and perfect attendance shirts may be worn on Fridays with uniform bottoms or jeans.
Monthly Dollar Free Dress Days
If participating in a “Dollar Free Dress Day”, they must still adhere to the district dress code.
If you placed an order for uniform application for your students, you will be able to pick those up in your students' classroom on Meet the Teacher Night, July 18th from 4:30-6pm.
If you haven't filled out an application you may send your students name, grade, and size to our Parent Liaison at alcala.yanai@cusd80.com.
Infinite Campus - Parent Portal ACTION NEEDED
Please make sure that you have an active parent portal set up through Infinite Campus. This is where you can check your student's grades, receive important school/district notifications and complete required forms. If you need assistance, please email our attendance clerk naranjo.yadira@cusd80.com. You can also call the front office at 480-812-6700.
Student Drop off / Pick up / Tardy
Gate information
We have 3 main gates for walkers, North of campus off Hartford (Gate 1), South of Campus off Monterey (Gate 2), West of Campus off Sunset (Gate 3). All 3 gates are marked.
Drop off
Student Drop off is located on the West side of campus, off Sunset Dr. Student drop-off and pick-up by vehicle, please pull forward all the way. We have staff on hand to help direct you, please be patient and follow their instructions. This will also be Drop off gate 4 for students that are tardy after all other gates have closed.
