District of Distinction
Wharton Awarded by National Recognition Program
A few weeks ago I had shared the work of the "Duffy Force" in a blog, you can still view, and the news that I had nominated them for an award and recognition, as a part of the entire district's effort to improve the school's culture and climate. The award sought is "District of Distinction".
The "Duffy Force" is a part of the district's movement to improve culture through the Culture and Climate Initiative, a collaborative effort between the school, the United Way and The College of St. Elizabeth.
WE WON!
"Districts of Distinction" is a national recognition program created by District Administration magazine to honor school districts that are leading the way with new ideas that work. The publication is looking to recognize established initiatives that are yielding quantifiable benefits, and that could be replicated by other districts.
Districts of Distinction honorees will:
- Be identified in District Administration magazine and on the magazine’s website
- Be included in a nationally distributed press release and in The District, a newsletter distributed to superintendent-members of the District Administration Leadership Institute
- Receive a District of Distinction certificate along with a letter of commendation from the Publisher of District Administration
- Receive a press release template to promote their recognition to local media
I wanted to take the opportunity to congratulate all the teachers and students involved in this program as well as all the staff involved in the Culture and Climate Initiative.
WHARTON WILL NOW BE SHOWCASED ON A NATIONAL LEVEL.
