COVID-19 Update:
- Total Confirmed Campus Cases: 1
- Total Active Cases: 1
- Students Actively Quarantined: 23
- Faculty/Staff Actively Quarantined: 0
Policies & Procedures Update:
I’m pleased to share that students will return to campus full time beginning Monday, Oct. 12. This decision was not made lightly, but is one we are confident is best for our students, faculty and staff. In July, we stated that our goal was to make a full return to campus as quickly, but more importantly, as safely as possible. We feel that time is now.
By starting on October 12, extending our hybrid model one additional week, our teachers will be able to prepare their class structure for this shift. Each group of students will have received the same number of days with on-campus instruction upon their return. Additionally, starting the week of Fall Break will mimic a traditional first week of school where our teachers and students can successfully blend both the “A” group and “B” group together. Please see the schedule below.
With this change, compliance to our processes and procedures will be paramount. We each play a role in the health of the larger Marquette community, and it will take every one of us to keep our campus safe. The proper use of masks, personal hygiene and attentiveness to personal health will continue to be requirements, and our quarantine guidelines, as recommended by the Tulsa Health Department, will remain. Additionally, should the safety of our students become compromised, we are now well versed in the hybrid model should we have to revert back. Please understand it is my sincere hope that this is not necessary, but know it will remain viable should circumstances warrant it.
Volunteers Needed
Many have asked about ways to help the school successfully return to full-time classes. We have two opportunities available at this time. We have purchased desk dividers for each of our students and it requires assembly with packaging tape (it is a very simple process). These dividers can be constructed any time throughout the school day between 8:00-10:30 and 1:30-3:00, Monday-Friday. If any parent wants to come and help, we will have the materials provided. Due to social distancing, we only are able to accommodate 4-8 volunteers at a time.
Another opportunity is to move student desks from our ECDC basement to the big school classrooms on Friday, October 2nd beginning at 1:30. Anyone who can bring a truck or trailer could help expedite the process (although it is not required to participate). We will meet at the main school and then begin to retrieve desks from the ECDC basement. At 3:00, we will begin to move the desks into specific classrooms. Our ending time will be dependent on the number of volunteers.
In order to plan properly, please let us know any time you plan to participate. Please direct any questions to Mr. Luetkemeyer.
Scrip and RaiseRight
Hello Marquette families!
For years, Marquette has participated in a fundraiser called Scrip. It is a simple fundraiser that has the potential to earn a lot of money for our school. We have had very little support in the past, but with the new app, I'm hoping to change that! All you have to do is download the app, RaiseRight, and start earning. Purchase gift cards for everyday items (groceries, gas, home improvement, clothing, restaurants) through the app and a percentage of each sale will go directly back to Marquette. For instance, my 11 year old just hit a growth spurt and will need new uniform shirts and shorts. If I open my app, find Land's End and purchase a $50 gift card, 15% of that will go back to Marquette! Or if I'm about to check out at Sam's Club or Target, I can open my app, purchase my gift cards and scan the codes directly at check out! Marquette get's 2.5% back at both Sam's and Target.
I am notified every time a new family joins through the app. If you download the app between now and October 20th, your child(ren) will earn a SPIRIT DRESS day on October 23rd!!
If you ever have questions, don't hesitate to reach out!
Thank you,
Chrissie Gipson
