Defer Dragon's Burning News
September 21, 2018
From the Principal
Dear Defer Families,
Due to high winds, Defer Movie Night has been rescheduled for this Sunday, September 23rd, at 7:00 pm.
Today students practiced our school evacuation drill. Students did a nice job listening and following directions during the drill. Thank you for partnering with us to provide a safe and secure learning environment.
The Fun Run excitement continued with Tweet Week for Technology! Students celebrated today with Pajama Day and even more classes earned their pizza party. Keep up the great work!
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Dr. Rheaume

Leader in Me
Welcome back to school! We are excited to continue the educational journey- learn to lead, lead to inspire! Your child is learning and practicing the language and meaning of the 7 Habits. When we work together to use the same language both at home and at school, we are sending the important message that we are on the same team- which is a partnership to help each and every child succeed.
Below is a summary of each of the 7 Habits:
Habit 1: Be Proactive (You’re in Charge)
Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind (Have a Plan)
Habit 3: Put First Things First (Work First, Then Play)
Habit 4: Think Win-Win (Everyone Can Win)
Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood (Listen Before You Talk)
Habit 6: Synergize (Together is Better)
Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw (Balance Feels Best)
The family friendly video below celebrates the Combs’ school’s journey. We know that our children are learners and leaders. Let’s work together to support them on this journey.
We are excited about cultivating leadership at Defer!
